The Philippines and Thailand is amongst the biggest economies in South East Asia. Along with its economic growth, traffic congestion within its city’s centers, doubled in the past decades. As the nations build numerous public transport infrastructure to combat the worsening traffic condition, congestion still exist.
Currently, the Philippines and Thailand find ways to improve the traffic movement in core districts, one of which is the creation of the efficient Central Station, where interconnectivity maximized. Today, we will feature the two central Stations, currently under-construction in South East Asia, that aims to decongest traffic in each Country.
Bang Sue Grand Station of Thailand.
The under-construction Bang Sue Grand Station, will be the new railway hub of Thailand located in Chatuchak, Bangkok, near existing Bang Sue Junction Railway Station. It will replace the existing Bangkok Railway Station, (Hua Lamphong), as the capital's main rail transport hub, that will support intercity, underground, commuter and high-speed train operations.
The Unified Grand Central Station in the Philippines.
This is the Unified Grand Central Station. Commonly known as, the Common Station. The under-construction, rapid transit terminal and transport hub in Metro Manila. Located in the corner of Edsa and North Avenue, between the SM North Edsa, and Ayala Mall TriNoma, under the administrative area of Quezon City.
