BYD (Build Your Dreams) continues to help electrify the world. Aside from opening up dozens of markets to cheap electric cars, let’s not forget that the company has been deliveries thousands of electric buses and trucks around the world in recent years. And we won’t forget about that this week, because we have news that BYD has delivered 100 electric buses to Uruguay — more specifically, CUTCSA, the largest transit operator in Uruguay.
“CUTCSA highly praised the fully electric buses for their performance, quality, environmental sustainability, and operational effectiveness at the ceremony,” BYD reports, which, of course, they would and should. “The company expressed its commitment to achieving a fully electrified fleet by 2040 through continued collaboration.” To be honest, that seems a bit slow, but at least the organization is on its way.
“The delivered K9UD electric buses, measuring 12 meters in length, are tailored for the Uruguayan market, focusing on environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, smart technology, and safety and comfort,” BYD adds. “These custom buses not only showcase BYD’s latest technological innovations but also symbolize the sincere cooperation and ongoing progress between the two parties, representing a pivotal step in Uruguay’s push towards 100% public transit electrification.”
Along with Uruguay, BYD has already delivered electric buses in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.
